About us

A car buying business you can actually trust.

Family-run, Essex based, and built on one simple promise — the price we agree is the price you get.

Our story

Why we started.

Between us we've spent more than twenty years in the motor trade — buying, selling, valuing and moving thousands of cars. In that time we watched the online car buyers take over, and we watched what happened to the people selling to them: a big number on the screen, then deduction after deduction at the doorstep until the price barely resembled the quote.

We knew the trade could do better than that. So we built The Car Buying Club — a local, accountable business where the valuation is honest from the start, the price is only ever adjusted if the car isn't as described, and you deal with the same named person from first enquiry to completion.

How we're different

Built different.

We're not a call centre

When you ring, you get a decision-maker — someone who can value your car and stand behind the figure, not read from a script.

One easy way to sell your vehicle

We buy your car — checked over, agreed, and paid the same day. We'll always be straight about what it's worth and why.

No fees. Ever.

You never pay us a penny. Not for the valuation, not for collection, not on completion.

Meet the founders

Marcus & Dan, co-founders.

Marcus Judd

Co-founder

Marcus looks after operations and the platform — the valuations, the systems, and making sure every customer's experience is the one we'd want ourselves. He ran his own retail dealership before going all-in on The Car Buying Club.

Dan Stacey

Co-founder

Dan co-founded the club after years in the trade. His relationships across the motor trade mean we know exactly what your car is worth — and can pay accordingly.
