What we collect
When you use our website or ask us to value or buy your car, we collect: your contact details (name, phone number, email address); details of your vehicle (registration, make, model, mileage, condition and history); your vehicle's MOT history, retrieved from the DVSA; and photos you choose to upload.
Why we collect it
We use this information to value your vehicle, contact you about your enquiry, complete a purchase if you sell to us, and meet our legal obligations as a motor trade business.
Lawful basis
We process your data on the basis of: performance of a contract (or taking steps at your request before entering one) when we value and buy your car; our legitimate interest in running and improving our business; and your consent, where we send marketing — which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
As part of valuing and buying your car, we may share your vehicle's details — never your personal contact details — with vetted trade buyers to obtain offers. We also use trusted service providers to run the business — website hosting, SMS messaging and payment processing — who process data on our instructions. We share data with authorities where legally required. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
How long we keep it
Enquiry data is kept for up to 24 months from your last contact with us. Transaction records are kept for 6 years for legal and tax purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, and to ask for it to be rectified, erased, restricted or ported to another provider.
